Bhashanchor – A Documentary
Bhashanchor is a commissioned documentary produced for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). While the original brief focused on operational documentation, I expanded the project to capture the daily lives of Rohingya people living on Bhashanchor Island in the Bay of Bengal, alongside the essential services provided by the Red Crescent Society of Bangladesh, supported by IFRC.
Bhashanchor became a temporary home for Rohingya families relocated from Cox’s Bazar to ensure better health and living conditions. Through this documentary, I explored their human reality: people without formal identity, living away from their homeland. The narrative follows Shallimuuh and his family, portraying their experiences and interactions with Red Crescent mentors, offering a personal perspective on life in this community.
This film reflects both the resilience of the Rohingya community and the vital humanitarian work carried out daily, highlighting their dignity, struggles, and humanity.
