Artist Talk & Cultural Evening: “Brushstrokes Meet Moving Image” brings painting, cinema into one shared space. The conversation is led by Moinuddin Khaled, with Bidhan Ribero and Abid Hossain Setu joining the exchange.
Musical Evening: “Soul of Song” by Post Office Society sets a warm, gentle mood for the night.
Closing Musical Evening: “Winning of Nature” by Tanveer Alam Shawjeeb offers a soft tribute to the spirit of the land.
Overview
She, the Universe – The Infinity Within Her
Presented at Alliance Française de Dhaka and curated by Liton Kar himself, this exhibition shows 25 oil paintings in a cinematic 2 by 4 feet format. The works follow women as life-givers, carriers of strength, and figures often pulled into the dark side of global politics.
Set against black walls, the paintings move between realism and quiet dream, inviting each viewer to feel their own meaning. The exhibition also stands as a tribute to Mahsa Amini and the wider struggle for freedom.
Daily screenings of I See You and evening music inspired by the theme turn the event into a full cultural experience, celebrating resilience and the universe within every woman.
Curatorial Notes
Kar’s work bridges the personal and the political, realism and the cinematic, the intimate and the universal. The uniform scale of the paintings, combined with the curated black-walled political pieces, demands reflection. She, the Universe transforms the gallery into a space where viewers confront global injustices and experience the enduring power of women
